Title: Show Off: How to Do Absolutely Everything. One Step at a Time.

Author: Sarah Hines Stephens

My Review:

Seriously, this is such a cool book! It’s perfect for a quirky person like myself who lives to know how to do silly and sometimes useless little things! You won’t believe some of the stuff you’ll find in here. The topics are divided into 6 categories~ amaze, investigate, create, explore, cook, move~ and the topics range from interesting to gross to awesome!

Here’s a short list of some of the topics:

How to:

  • Create a fake wound
  • Spin a plate
  • Shimmy up walls
  • Bend water with static
  • Trap shadows
  • Lift a friend’s fingerprint
  • Ink a fake tattoo
  • Raise a butterfly
  • Grill cheese on a stick
  • Make edible fake barf {personal fave… hehe}
  • Moonwalk
  • Do the worm

See what I mean? Quite a variety of topics don’t you think?

The instructions are simple and the illustrations are abundant. There are so many great drawings showing you step by step how to do all of this stuff.

I am sure this would be a fun resource for science teachers just to add a little intrigue and something unexpected once in a while to the classroom and I am sure that more young adults and teens would love to know how to do and make many if not all of the things in this amazing and entertaining encyclopedia of stuff.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
