Oxy Clinical Blog Tour
I have had acne since I was 12 years old. I am now 32 and STILL am dealing with it. I had hoped that once I hit adulthood, it would become a thing of the past, but unfortunately that is not the case. My oldest daughter, Olivia, is 12 years and seems to be following in my footsteps. I want to nip this issue in the bud so she hopefully doesn’t become a long-time acne sufferer like me.
Acne doesn’t only affect your complexion, but it also affects a person’s self-esteem. I remember always being so self-conscious whenever I had a big pimple. I always thought people were staring at it and no amount of cover up could hide it. I NEVER went anywhere without makeup on as a teen. Ask anyone who had a locker near me in high school. They might remember me and my big cloud of face powder sopping up the oil on my face. The worst kinds of pimples were the big blind pimples that were almost purple in colour and hurt so darn bad. You couldn’t even touch them and popping them only made them worse.
As for Olivia, I pray that her skin doesn’t get like mine did. However, we can learn from my mistakes and do everything we can to stop acne in its tracks. She is into the routine of washing her face every morning and evening before bed so this helps. Plus, she doesn’t wear any makeup so her pores can breathe.
Both Olivia and I had the opportunity to try the new Oxy Clinical skincare line and see how we liked it. This line contains:
- Advanced Face Wash– 25x more acne medicine remains on the skin after rinsing to fight acne
- Clearing Treatment– clinically proven to eliminate 99% of acne bacteria in just 8 hours
- Hydrating Therapy– 3-in-1 Formula which exfoliates, hydrates and controls oil
This system gives you clinical results without having to make a trip to the doctor. I have tried prescription acne treatments and I found this one worked just as well if not better than most of them. I liked that it did not have a gross smell. Most of the acne treatments I have tried smelled just awful and the smell did not rinse off. One I can recall that I got from my doctor had sulfur in it so I smelled like rotten eggs. All day long that is all I could smell. It must have been permanently burned into my nose hairs. The Oxy Clincial Advanced Wash actually smells good! Now that’s a first! The first time I used it I could feel it working. My skin stung just a teeny tiny bit, but now that I have been using it for over a week, I don’t feel any discomfort whatsoever.
I also like that it doesn’t burn or make my face red. I have very sensitive skin and need to watch what I put on it. It’s not drying either. Even though my skin is very oily, I find that some acne products dry it out completely and leave me flaky or even peeling. These products did help to cut down on the oiliness and didn’t dry out my face. The only spots it affected were the pimples which dried out and disappeared. I would love to see a face mask from Oxy Clinical. I like to do those once a week.
My skin does feel like it is clearing up. I still have some zits due to hormones and stress, but they are not out of control even with the summer heat. Olivia also liked using Oxy Clinical. Her skin is clear right now and hopefully will stay that way!
I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Oxy Clinical and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
My own daughter is 12 and so far so good on her skin not being like mine at that age….but like you, I’ve also tried to teach her more about prevention so hopefully she won’t have to deal with so much of the treatment. While I’ve found a product that I really like (and at 42, I’m still fighting the occasional blemish, but it is better), we haven’t found one that Jessica likes and works on her skin without the smell or the redness.
Oh two of my three teens have horrible acne!! This would be wonderful to have a coupon to save money!!
