Blog Spotlight: Still Blonde After All These Years!

Still Blonde

I am running a feature spotlighting other Review & Giveaway Blogs. If you have one and would like to be featured, please email me at [email protected]

Today I would like to welcome the Chief Blonde from Still Blonde After All These Years. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…

Please tell me about yourself.

The Chief Blonde and Blogger at Still Blonde after all these YEARS!, is a Christian, a happily married woman to the BEST man in the UNIVERSE, 4 college age/late high school aged children (we are a blended family). I have an undergraduate degree in Industrial Administration from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) and an MBA from University of Chicago (Marketing concentration).

Please tell me about your blog.

My blog is targeted at women 45 and over with all the issues relating to that age group.  We have many younger readers as well, many of whom are interested in our Giveaways which are always over $50.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging for seven months.

How did you get started?

I was inspired by the Movie, Julie/Julia. One weekend, when my husband was gone for the whole weekend, I just dived in, set up the blog and got it rolling!

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I feature any products that would be of interest to Women 45 and over. No giveaways under $50. Most over $100.

What was your favourite giveaway?

My favorite giveaway so far has been the $999 INADA Massage Cube. It was one of my first giveaways and it helped to generate a great deal of interest in my blog!

Who does your blog appeal to?

While I target women over 45, I also have a huge following of women in the 23-35 age group (college educated) who enter my giveaways and read my reviews.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

I hope to grow it as an exclusive entity. I want it to be a niche site that stands on its own. Perhaps I may someday, I will form a Vintage Central and try to incorporate other blogs like mine although there are very few currently. I also see offshoots of the brand. I am currently working on developing a new site, Still Vintage after all these YEARS!, a site for Vintage Jewelry.  Be watching for that soon. I have just found a web style that I like for it!

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

Learning HTML. I wish I could partner with a really good web designer who would make my Big changes for me.

What do you love about blogging?

Part of me likes the Rock Star aspect of it all. For example, when our staff went to the 2010 CES in Las Vegas, we were treated like celebrities! People wanted US to feature their products because of WHAT our blog represents Women over 45.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

Cookie cutter blogs, not being able to reach a real person at Google, the fact that GOOGLE banned me from advertising with adsense for a newbie mistake.

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway?

Oh yes. Enter often and do all the bonus entries.

Newbie review bloggers?

Cultivate relationships but be careful of false flattery. Develop template letters. To your own self be true!

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
