Sunlight Green Clean Review
I have been using Sunlight liquid laundry detergent regularly for a very long time…in fact I think you could say its been my trusted brand my entire adult life. It’s always proven to me that it cleans well and leaves my clothes feeling soft and smelling fresh. It is safe for me to use on my sensitive skin- a must for me when choosing any kind of soap or detergent.
Sunlight has recently introduced a new line of environmentally friendly laundry detergents called Sunlight Green Clean. In fact it is better for the environment in BOTH the actual formula and packaging. Here’s a few facts about to give you a better idea:
- 91% of the cleaning agents in the detergent are plant-based (vs. pertroleum based).
- Uses naturally sourced cleaning enzymes
- The 3X concentrated formula uses 46% less water in the manufacturing process, 25% less plastic, 27% less corrugate, and 40% less diesel fuel in shipping.
- Designed to be used in cold water.
- Low sudsing forumula so it works both in HE and Standard washing machines.
- No alcohols or dyes
I had a chance to try out a 946 mL bottle of Sunlight Green Clean Liquid Laundry Detergent in Citrus Fresh. I already knew that Sunlight was a great product for getting tough stains out so I was curious to see how the new Green Clean would fare. Well, it also does a fabulous job just as I expected it would. I am constantly spilling drinks on myself (especially coffee) and this detergent works like a dream to get out the coffee stains from my shirts. It cleans great, leaves no icky residue and I like the fresh lemon scent. The fact that it is better for environment is also a big bonus. I always wash in cold water anyways so its nice to use a detergent made just for cold water. I try to save $ wherever I can and rarely use hot water in my washes. I plan to continue using Sunlight and will be picking up Green Clean on my grocery trips!
Sunlight Green Clean Laundry Detergent comes in four fragrances: Citrus Fresh, Free and Clear, Wild Lavender and Orchid Blossom. I like that they have an unscented version for those of us who are scent sensitive. The 946 mL bottle washes up to 32 loads and costs $7.99. The larger bottle at 2.83 L is 18.99 and it is good for up to 96 loads. Find it in the detergent aisle at major grocery stores and mass retailers across Canada!
They also have a program called Sunlight Green Clean Kid. Get your kids to tell them about a green idea to help your home, school or community and they could be given a $1500 grant to put their plan into action!
