Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm Review

I  have dry lips mostly in the winter except for this year. For some reason, my lips are so dry especially on the sides and are actually cracking. It is so uncomfortable and looks gross because its red in that one little area. I think its this house and the dry air in here. It sucks the moisture right out of me. It was a lifesaver to have some of Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm to have around the house to help soothe my sore lips.

Its actually perfect for summer because of the fresh fruity flavour that reminds me of a tropical vacation. Its 100% natural and is jam packed with essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins; think of it as nutrition for your lips. It is also made with rich mango butter for the Mango flavoured lip balm and Acai Berry oil  for the Acai Berry lipbalm to provide moisture and to maintain a perfect pout. The other natural ingredients are sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and castor seed oil.

I was able to try two lip balms: Mango Butter and Acai Berry. The first thing I noticed on each as I popped off the cap was the delicious tropical fruit scent. I love those kinds of scents because it is a reminder of summer vacation soon starting. Summer has always been my favourite time of year and I have such fond memories of summers past. The lip balms are also very soothing and felt great to put on my lips especially where it was cracked. It did soften them up and help the crack to heal over and now its gone thankfully.  Its colourless as well so you can either wear it over your lipstick or just apply to your bare lips to give them a little bit of shine. It tastes yummy- no I didn’t eat it! I just could tell when I was applying it and wearing it. Smell and taste seem to be closely related and when something smells good you also get the impression it tastes good too. I have tried yucky smelling lip balms that tasted ick and this is NOT one of them.

Burt’s Bees Nourishing Lip Balm retails for $4.49 for a .15 oz tube and is now available in grocery stores, drug and mass retailers and at www.burtsbees.com
