My Review:

In my 41st year of life, sometimes I find myself asking how did I get here? How can I be in my 40’s? Life did not exactly turn out like I thought it would. The subtitle of this book is “Finding New Passion, Purpose and Joy…” ~ I think we could all use a shot of this in our lives to get us out of our ruts. {I know I am not the only one who gets in ruts! hehe}

This book is a devotional book, but it is better than many I have tried before. The first thing I loved about it was that half of the book is actually a book to read with tips, ideas, wake-up calls and scriptures to back it all up. I found the book very entertaining and informative and I love Ms. Demetre’s blunt and humorous writing style.

It’s a very interactive book which keeps your interest because you are always answering questions which keeps you engaged. Here are some sample questions… “My life would be so much better if…, the habit I need to change so I can move forward…”

The second half of the book is called “The Forty-Day Journey” which is 40 days worth of devotionals.  I have started them and find them very intriguing. Each day has a reading and then there are several questions to answer. They are not actually questions, but more like “what did you learn” type responses. Some of the headings are Prayer, Worship, Confession, Thankfulness and then “from the devotion above I have identified the lie I believe…” and “the truth I now receive…”

I believe this book will make a difference in the lives of women everywhere if they allow it to. Ms. Demetre has definitely given us some “food for thought” and even more than that advice that can change your life. It is one of those “this is just what I needed” kind of reads. I hope you find it as moving as I did.
