Book Review | The Gourmet Pregnancy

Fall in love with your changing body, pamper your palate, and start loving up your kitchen with dozens of delicious, nourishing recipes that can be found in the book, “The Gourmet Pregnancy” written by Leah Douglas with a foreword by Dr. Jan Christilaw, MD.

As I was flipping through the book looking to see what recipe I was going to make I was pleased to see that this was not only a book filled with yummy recipes and life like photos that make your mouth water, but information about food that should be avoided during pregnancy, recipes that can be picked out due to what you are craving, and little quotes throughout the book.

I was excited to share the book with my sister…who as of today is 8 days over due. As we flipped through the book together we of course stopped at the dessert at the dessert section. We chose to do the Chocolate Raspberry Fudge.  I went out to get the stuff we needed and started to make the special treat for my much deserving sister carrying my niece (hoping she would share of course).  The recipe was laid out for me in step by step details which I loved. A simple yet for decadent dessert and soooo yummy!!!  It took about 2 hrs to make start to finish and although we cut the fudge a bit bigger then we probably should of we still got around 10 pieces.  Perfect for a small get together. I highly recommend this recipe to any chocolate lover and the raspberries make it healthy….right???

I had to chuckle at the serving instructions.  “Serve squares of fudge to guests on individual plates.  If pregnant, just eat directly from the refrigerator with your fingers.”  Well said!!! For more info on this book got to
