Book Review | Amanda Memories

Title: Amanda Memories

Author: Dr. Joel Gecht

My Review:

This book is a real page turner and one that I found hard to put down. {Cliche I know, but very true!}

In this story, Brian Roberts is a young man starting out with a new career as a psychologist and he is in a new relationship with Nancy, who is turning out to be the love of his life.

His psychology career is just starting out and all his patients are being videotaped and he is critiqued by his fellow colleagues.

One patient, as you may have guessed, Amanda, is of particular interest to him and he becomes totally engrossed in trying to help her. Amanda is a gorgeous, young, green-eyed young woman who is severely troubled and the voices she hears in her head are telling her what to do. She becomes obsessed with Dr. Roberts and tries to figure him out and get into his life.

Dr. Roberts becomes super successful and even has his own talk show, but he is losing himself in the process and his relationship with Nancy is really taking a beating.

Sounds like an average story line but then Amanda winds up dead and guess who is the prime suspect? You got it~ Dr. Brian Roberts. He has tried so hard to get into her deepest parts and to figure out what could only be a very dark past. I believe he sincerely wants to help her and make her better.

The ending is very satisfying and not really what I expected. When I was reading, I could really empathize with Amanda and feel how tortured she was and I also felt kind of “creeped out” by her at the as she was spying on the doctor. The thoughts in her mind were chilling at best sometimes.

I would highly recommend this book and I hope I have conveyed how much I enjoyed it.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
