Me-Time DVD Review
I used to meditate daily a few years ago and even went to weekly meditation classes. I always enjoyed how peaceful and relaxed I would feel after meditating and have often had insights into the current issues I was facing when I let my thoughts go. My doctor mentioned at my last appointment that I would benefit from meditating and that I should strive to do it once a day. I have an overly sensitized nervous system and chronic nerve and muscle pain in my pelvic floor muscles. She told me that meditation would help me to relieve some of the tension in this area.
I prefer guided meditations over just meditating on my own. I still need A LOT of practice reining in my thoughts and with a guided meditation, it helps the process along and makes it easier to focus on the imagery. I received Mental Health Coach, Suzanne Jessee’s DVD, Me Time. It contains two separate cognitive meditation and imagery session for morning and night.
The Positive Day session helps you to start your day with a positive attitude about yourself and life. It is meant to get you motivated and feeling energetic. I tried it a few times in the morning and found that it helped to get me in the right frame of mind to take on the day ahead. I like that it tells you to focus on the present and release the past because you can’t change what has already happened so why dwell on it. The only thing was that I often forgot to do it. I’d get up and have so many things to do that by the time I was ready to do the meditation it was already after lunch.
I had much better luck with the Night Meditation. This one will guide you step by step into a physical and mental deeply relaxed state. Â It helps you to put aside the events of the day to calm your mind. I already like to listen to music before bed so it was easy to just pop this CD in and listen. I found that it did wonders to relax my body and stopping my thoughts from running. I found that I fell into a deep, comfortable slumber after listening. It is just wonderful and I love how good I feel after a good night’s sleep.
You can purchase Suzanne Jessee’s Me-Time DVD online for $19.99.
