Harumika Review

If you have girls, then you will definitely want to check out Harumika! It is a new fashion toy that allows girls to design their own clothing line. How cool is that? I wish someone would have thought of this when I was growing up!  I remember wanting to be a fashion designer and drawing my own clothes. Of course, that was back in the 80s and I came up with some pretty funky outfits…think Jem and the Holigrams!

My girls were each sent a Harumika Style Starter Set to try out and see how they liked it. There is a 6 year age gap between Olivia and Bridget so I was curious to see which one would like it better. The Harumika Style Starter Set comes with a white dress form, stylus tool, three chic fabric swatches, fashion accesssories and stickers.  It comes in the following assortments: Exotic, County Fair, Inspirations, Surfer Style, Casual Couture, and Lovely in Lavender. Its easy to use. You just pick a fabric, drape it on the dress form and secure in the style at the back of the form. There is no need for cutting or gluing! The design possibilities are endless and allow for hours of imaginative play. It retails for $11.99.

Both girls were really impressed with Harumika and loved playing with it even though there is a 6 year age difference. It was easy for them to do themselves and they liked all the options with the materials, trims and stickers. They kept going back to it to play so its not the kind of toy they will play with once and then forget about. Bridget loves arts and crafts so she would immerse herself in designing for hours at at time which is impressive for a busy 5 year old girl.

If you are looking for a creative and fun gift for your girls, then check out Harumika! Check them out online or at Toys R Us and Zellers.
