Book Review | Little Synni’s Moonlight Mischief

Title: Little Synni’s Moonlight Mischief

Author: Cheryl Schenk

My Review:

This is a children’s book and the first thing that caught my attention was how beautiful the claymation was. I know that kids imaginations will run wild as they dive into this book and it’s magical world.

The story is a simple one, but one that is so relevant to kids in this age group… yikes a new baby sibling is coming! {I’d recommend it for 6-11 year olds.} The main character, Synni is so distraught at the fact that this new little person is coming into her life and might get to eat the treats her mom makes for her~ a little “pre-sibling” rivalry taking place…

She decides to run away into the forest… she makes a plan, tells her best friend and follows through. It gets a little suspenseful when she ends up along and frightened in a strange place, but of course there is a happy ending, and the little sister does not seem as bad as first feared.

One thing I also liked about this book was that it was in chapters. As someone who works in the school system, I know it is a proud moment when a kid can finally read a “chapter book.” It is a book that has adventure, beautiful pictures and it can be read by the children themselves…

The author hopes to make this book into a series of books, which I think would be a great idea.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
