Blog Spotlight | TS Giveaways
I am running a feature spotlighting other Review & Giveaway Blogs. If you have one and would like to be featured, please email me at [email protected]
Today I would like to welcome Surge from TS Giveaways. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
Well, I’m Canadian. I have blonde hair and green eyes, and I frequently eat everything in sight yet continue to weigh a stunning 110 pounds. 😉 I dance, blog, write, do gymnastics and continuously amaze myself.
Please tell me about your blog.
Blogging is my secret forte. It’s my nerdy little secret, I guess you could say. I never exactly shove the fact that I blog in anybodies face – but I love it. TS Giveaways seems like such a fun project for me and I hope it totally works out.
How long have you been blogging?
I started my giveaway blog on Feburary 10th, 2010, and my personal blog was started in June 2009(1 post). I didn’t really start to pay attention to it until September. Otherwise, I’ve been on and off blogging/webdesign for years, since I was 13.
How did you get started?
I seen a forum, and I was like OMG mom buy me a ‘domain’. So I sat in my room for hours at a time (kind of like I do now, except to a lesser extent) and whittled away html codes and such. And my brother made fun of me because he played Runescape which was apparently so much cooler. (Now it’s WOW, or whatever.) Which is besides the point – I’ve kind of forgotten most html.
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
I’ve just started off with my own handmade stuff. There’s definetly more to come, and I hope to feature other artists handmade work as well as mass produced products. Book giveaways seem like a prospect as well 🙂
What was your favourite giveaway?
Well I’ve only had on my blog so it would have to be that one – otherwise, there have been many around the web that I’ve loved participating in. Live giveaways are great.
Who does your blog appeal to?
Anybody who loves the products that are being given away. My first giveaway is still going on, and I’d say that’s probably aimed at any woman, girl, or mother but I hope for various age groups/gender giveaways in the future.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I hope it goes up hill. I’ll keep promoting and looking for sponsors, and if google ad revenue makes enough for a domain – then I’ll totally buy a domain.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
I think advertising, it’s a little hard to get followers when you first start out.
What do you love about blogging?
The creative outsource and the fact that people like to read your posts. It makes your otherwise unimportant writing important.
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
Autoplay music. Hate it. Also word verification on giveaway blogs – but I guess you need to have it sometimes. I’m giving a try at not having the word verification, we’ll see how that works out.
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?
Just follow the mandatory entry and you should be fine when entering a giveaway.
Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
I love dooce.com, questionablecontent.net, and so many others.
How can people find you?
At the hockey rink. Oh, online? Over here http://tsgiveaways.blogspot.com/
