Blog Spotlight | Finally Finding Me…I Think
I am running a feature spotlighting other Review & Giveaway Blogs. If you have one and would like to be featured, please email me at [email protected]
Today I would like to welcome Danielle from Finally Finding Me…I Think. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
My name is Danielle (lots of people call me Yellie), I’m a 31 year old SAHM of 3 boys (ages 11, 7 1/2 and 4) and a wife of 10 1/2 years. I love the Lord with all my heart and my main focus in life is living to glorify Him and to raise my boys to be wonderful men of God.
Please tell me about your blog.
I started my blog a couple years ago as a way for family to keep up with what was going on with us, but I see or talk to most of them very frequently, so my focus kind of shifted. After entering blog giveaways for a about 6 months, I thought “Hey, why don’t I start reviewing products and hosting giveaways?” and so I did!
How long have you been blogging?
Well, I started my blog about 3 years ago, but have only been blogging regularly for the past year or so.
How did you get started?
At first I started posting a few reviews of some things I liked or didn’t like and then I started getting in touch with companies to review their products.
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
I feature everything from books to stuff for kids to clothes, jewelry and beauty products. Whatever sounds appealing to me, I inquire about reviewing and go from there and I love to do themed events!
What was your favourite giveaway?
So far, the giveaway that was my favorite was for a Soda Stream at home soda fountain. My husband and boys absolutely love it and so do I. No more partially full, flat 2 liters in my fridge, plus it’s healthier for you. I can dig that. We just ordered a bigger CO2 tank for it because we use it so much!
Who does your blog appeal to?
I’d say my main focus is probably toward other moms because I’m a mom and I’m always looking out for products and things that would be best for my family.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I see it getting much bigger with even more great reviews and giveaways. Since I just started out doing them in October and have already had such great feedback and am having so much fun, I definitely want to continue and bring even more great products to the attention of my readers.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
Probably managing my time. It takes a fair amount of time between contacting companies, posting the reviews, contacting winners of giveaways, etc. I try to do the bulk of it when my youngest son is taking a nap and my older boys are at school or I like to type up and schedule posts several days out so that if something comes up and I can’t take the time to type up a review on any given day, it’s no biggie.
What do you love about blogging?
I love that blogging gives me a way to connect with tons of other moms and just awesome people in general and has opened my eyes to several companies and products that I may never have known about otherwise. Not to mention, I love all the review goodies I get and the opportunity to give some great stuff away to my readers!
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
I would say that it kinda drives me nuts when people don’t read the instructions for how to enter the giveaways and just do whatever they feel like instead. It takes extra time to go through and delete the unqualified comments and it’s a bummer that they missed out on entries just because they didn’t read the instructions.
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway?
Read the entry instructions!!! Ha! My advice would be to take advantage of as many entry options as possible to increase your chances of winning!
newbie review bloggers? – Don’t be afraid to contact any company. The worst they can do is tell you “no” and that’s no biggie, just move on to the next one. You never know what great opportunity you might be passing up by thinking “Well, my blog is fairly new with reviews and I don’t have a large following.”. I’ve found that a lot of companies are still more than happy to work with you and it has even opened up bigger and better opportunities for me, so definitely don’t be afraid to ask.
Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
Scribbit | A Blog About Motherhood in Alaska Michelle always posts the most tempting recipes and her sense of humor has me giggling everytime I read. and
Marla Taviano | Christian author and speaker She always has something inspiring on her blog and it’s somewhere I can always go to be spiritually refreshed.
How can people find you?
Well, my blog is called Finally Finding Me…I Think (basically because everytime I think I’m finally figuring out who I am, something gets me thinking that maybe I really have no idea LOL)
Be sure to stop in and say hello. I’d love to hear from ya!
