Baby’s First Phone Call Review
The arrival of your bundle of joy is one of life’s true miracles but it’s also a breathtaking and hectic time for any family. Notifying your friends and family of the birth of your baby can be stressful, especially when you’re exhausted and focused on caring for your newest family member. Let Baby’s First Phone Call help you with that happy chore. Baby’s First Phone Call is an automated call tree that you set up ahead of time, allowing you to notify friends and family with a single call. One of our readers who was expecting her second baby any day volunteered to be our tester for this review…Her name is Emily and she had her baby boy on Feb. 20 at 11:33am. They named him Joshua Michael. He was 7 pounds and 7.6 ounces and 18 inches long. They are in love all over again!!! Congrats to Emily and her family. Here is what she said about Baby’s First Phone Call.
I had never heard of Baby’s First Phone Call when I was asked if I would be interested in trying it out for a review. I looked at the website, and it seemed pretty self-explanatory, and a pretty cool idea!
Here’s the deal: Instead of calling everyone individually when your baby is born, you have one number to call: Baby’s First Phone Call. You record a voice message with your baby news and information, and it automatically calls all the people you want to share your news with! All you do is set up your account, add people and their phone numbers to your list, and that’s it! Baby’s First Phone Call provides you with a number to call when your baby is born, and once you have recorded your voice message for your loved ones, Baby’s First Phone Call takes care of the rest. You can even set up times for individual people for when they will receive the call. If you don’t want to bother certain people in the middle of the night with a phone call, you just set the time settings to call between the hours that you wish.
Once I could access my account, set up was very easy! My only complaint with the set up aspect is, you cannot easily view the time settings that you arrange for each individual person. Once you enter the time settings and save, it does not clearly show you a list of the people’s names, phone numbers, and time settings you have set up for each person. Other than that, it is simple and easy.
When our baby boy was born, my husband called Baby’s First Phone Call to record the voice message. He did have to call several times and re-record his message. The first two times he recorded the voice message, it said it was not recorded at the end of the call. We’re not exactly sure why this happened. This could have been user error… Let’s face it, my husband was probably on an adrenaline rush from the birth and his head was probably slightly more fuzzy than normal! But after the first two unsuccessful recordings, it finally recorded fine and the message was sent to our friends and family!
We received email responses from several loved ones! This is also an awesome feature of Baby’s First Phone Call. Our loved ones had the choice to record a voice message to be sent back to us via email! So when I got on my laptop the next day while in the hospital, there were several emails from Baby’s First Phone Call. We just opened the emails, and easily listened to the voice messages of our friends and family. What a special treat! They could leave us a personal message without calling our cell phones or bothering us while in the hospital. We were able to listen to them at our convenience. I loved this!
Overall, it is a pretty neat idea! It had a few kinks, but overall it was a positive experience. It delivered our good news to people who we wanted to share with, and it was fairly easy! I would recommend Baby’s First Phone Call to any expecting parents.
