Book Review | Walking on Broken Glass by Christa Allan
This is an interested book telling of Leah’s life and path toward sobriety. I found it hard to connect with any of the characters. I found Leah just a little too whiny and thought her husband was a jerk most of the time. I did like Leah’s dad though; he was an enjoyable and likable character. Parts of the book were slow going for me but other parts were really good and interesting. It was an alright book to me but I had a hard time connecting since I have never had to experience this sort of thing in my own life or witness it in someone close to me. The ending of the story was a little surprising and different than I expected; I liked it though. The author did her research and made the book very detailed about the path to sobriety with AA meetings and rehab. I definitely give her A+ for that! I think Christa Allan is a good writer even if I didn’t fully appreciate the subject matter in this particular book. I would be interested in reading another book by her.
