Book Review | Letters to God by Patrick Doughtie & John Perry

Title: Letters to God: From the Major Motion Picture
Author: Patrick Doughtie, John Perry

Sometimes a book can grab your attention and draw you in and this is one of those times. “Letters to God” pulls at your heartstrings and makes you think about your own life and how precious life is. This novel is inspired by a true story which makes it even more “real” to me.

The family in this book is very believable and you soon discover that their lot in life seems to be one of tragedy. However, how one handles difficult situations can depend a lot on their faith and trust in God which is evident in this novel.

Another thing I liked about this book is that the main character is a child who is stricken with a disease that does not have a good prognosis… yet he is the one who turns it around and gives hope to all the people around him.

“Letters to God” is easy to read, brings you to tears and just as quickly can lead you to laugh out loud. The message gives hope to anyone who faces hard times and difficult situations {and who doesn’t!}. Also, on April 9th, 2010, this story will be on the big screen and I have included a link to the official website. {I am not a movie reviewer, but the preview looks great!}
