Book Review | Our Promised Land by Michael T. Darkow

Title: Our Promised Land
Author: Michael T. Darkow
My Review:

Let me start by saying I really loved this book. It has not only a historical side, but a great fictional side as well.

The historical aspect is the conflict between Israel and Palestine over what has been called “the promised land.” The fictional story line could be a true story and it tells the heart wrenching tale of 2 men~ one from each side of the conflict.
I think what got to me was the thought that this really happened/happens to people. In the early parts of the book we meet one character as a youngster who is taken to a Nazi concentration camp. The events that unfold obviously scar him for life and left me with a haunting feeling…
In this story we can see how each side feels from a political, personal and religious perspective. This story is real, heartbreaking and enlightening. I really hope you will take the time to read it. It is not too long and is not difficult to read. I finished it in 2 days. I have included a link to the author’s website for this book.
