Blog Spotlight | Tigerlily’s Book
I am running a feature spotlighting other Review & Giveaway Blogs. If you have one and would like to be featured, please email me at [email protected]com
Today I would like to welcome Yuri from Tigerlily’s Book. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
I’m a stay-at-home wife (no kids yet but we’re TTC), 31yr old with a big imagination and a love for writing / blogging. I live in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. I love getting to know people from around the world. And I also crazy about cats ^__^
Please tell me about your blog.
I actually have 2 blogs right now with reviews & giveaways:
Tigerlily’s Book which is my personal blog where I currently host giveaways & reviews. I love finding and reviewing new products and share the story with others. Most of the giveaways on my blog are open for worldwide.
Two Thousand Things which is my fashion blog. This is where i host beauty and fashion-related reviews & giveaways.
How long have you been blogging?
I started with my personal blog around 3 or 4 yrs ago but then I went below the radar for a while and then I started to blog routinely again on early last year and created 2 blogs.
How did you get started?
I always love writing diaries ever since I was a little kid and then internet came and I learned about blogging which is actually your “online diary”. I got intrigued by the concept of blogging and so I made one 😉
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
On Tigerlily’s Book I feature any kind of products (all family-friendly), I love finding new unique things. While on Two Thousand Things I feature beauty and fashion related products.
What was your favourite giveaway?
Oh this is a hard one. My favourite giveaway would probably the one from Perricone Md which was held on Two Thousand Things, it’s my favourite because the prize was worth $90 ! 😀
Who does your blog appeal to?
I think my blog appeals to woman around 20 – 40 yrs old and they are from all over the world, most of them are SAHM or WAHM and college girls. But I do have a small percentage of man readers too.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I’m planning to change into dotcom in the future. Right now I’m using blogspot but once I change into a dot com address I’m hoping there will be more to it then just a blog 🙂
Maybe a more professional looking and more professional concept for Tigerlily’s Book. And I’m thinking an online magazine concept for my fashion blog right now, but who knows?
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
The biggest challenge probably was when I was just starting out, trying to find a handful of loyal readers and trying to upgrade my google page rank was the biggest challenge. Those 2 things are important to make your blog more “appealing” to companies. But once you put some serious work on it you’ll get the result in no time 😀
What do you love about blogging?
I love writing so it’s probably what I love most about blogging. Second of all, I got to know so many people from different countries and I got to find new things and trying them for free.
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
My biggest blogging pet peeve is the scammers, sometimes they flooded my comment box and I hate to scan my comment box to delete them one by one. Other pet peeve is when some small companies or websites asked me for a link trade and asked if I could put their link on my homepage but when I checked on their website they only put my link on their little “blog” or “hidden” page which is not on their main website / homepage. This professional websites only wants to gain some fame and entries from bloggers without really want to help the bloggers.
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?
For readers entering my giveaway (or giveaways somewhere else), please read the rules before you enter. Sometimes people just forgot to write their email address and when their name came out I have to re-draw again. And try to add up your chances by doing the options listed for extra entries because most of the people who do that ends up a winner on my giveaways.
And for newbie review blogger, you might want to gather a handful of followers first before you start contacting companies looking for sponsors because most of the companies would look on your readership first. And for the giveaway, try to make a simple mandatory rules. If it gets too complicated people won’t enter it.
Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
I love your blog, Simply Stacie. I also love My Giveaway Today.
Both are my favorite review & giveaway blog.
For fashion blog I love What I Wore Today.
How can people find you?
Through my blogs:
And my twitter:
My emails are stated on both of my blogs so feel free to contact me 😀
