What comes to mind when I think about Japan is cars and electronics. Thanks to Yu-Be, I will add skin cream to that list! Yu-Be is the #1 selling skin cream in Japan and has earned the honour of being the longest selling skin care product in Japan. It was created by a Japanese pharmacist back in 1957 and is a concentrated glycerin cream enriched with Vitamin E, Vitamin B2 and Camphor. It is set apart from the other creams on the market because of the high glycerin content and the specialized manufacturing process that increases the absorbability.
The folks at Yu-Be sent me some product to try out. The first one I tried was the Moisturizing Skin Cream. This multi-purpose cream can be used on split cuticles, dry cracked heels and hands, rashes, eczema and dermatitis. It is safe for the whole family to use including children and can even be used on the face or lips. I used it mainly on my hands and feet and love how quickly it absorbed leaving no greasy residue. It did have a Camphor smell, but it was quick to dissapate. My hands and feet felt instantly soothed and soft. I can see why the Japanese like it so much! It retails for $15.
Next was the Moisturizing Body Lotion is an easy to apply glycerin lotion that helps hydrate, soothe and smooth dry sensitive skin. It is different from the cream because it is not as thick, but does have the same Camphor scent. I used this on my legs and elbows and love that absorbed almost instantly and worked wonders for my dry skin. This is an excellent product to have around the house especially during the cold winter months. It retails for $29.00.
Last but not least, I tried out the Foaming Skin Polish. This is a foaming scrub has fine grains of rice bran and bamboo as well as ginger root and ginseng. It also has green tea, geranium oil, camphor. It all sounds so Japanese! You can use this scrub on both your face and body. I especially liked it on my hands and feet to slough off the dead skin and make them feel really soft. Then, I would use the Moisturizing Skin Cream on my hands and feet and the difference was amazing. Gone was the dry, cracked bleeding skin!! This is my magic winter formula. You can buy the Polish for $18.
Check out these fabulous products and see why they are Japan’s favourite!
