Green Beaver Cheek Balm Review

Living in Canada my whole life, I know how harsh winter can be on my skin. Each and every winter, I face the same skin issues of dryness, bleeding and cracking. Without fail. I am not moving south anytime soon so I look for ways to protect and soothe my skin during the long, cold winter months. The coldest winter I remember was back in 2004 when we were living in Edmonton, AB and it was -50 degrees Celsius! It was a bone chilling cold that was too much to bear. I used to have to wait outside for the bus to take me to work and boy did my skin suffer that January!

I wish I would have had Green Beaver Cheek Balm back then to protect and soothe my poor cheeks! Its made with rich, moisturizing shea and cupuacu butter and it is safe to use on babies and children. It is not only just for your cheeks, but can also be used on other dry areas like your elbows, knees and heels. Cupuacu butter is new to me. It comes from the seeds of the Cupuacu Tree in Brazil. The butter is cold-pressed, refined and filtered and possesses a softer, creamier consistency than cocoa butter. It is excellent to use as a moisturizer as it promotes deep and long lasting hydration.

We had a chance to try out Green Beaver Cheek Balm and see if it would help our winter trouble spots. I no longer have to wait outside for a bus so my cheeks are pretty good, but my feet get sooooo dry especially my heels. I am actually embarrassed to walk around without my socks on.  I applied the balm to my heels and loved how easily and quickly it absorbed into my skin. It was almost like my heels were drinking in the moisture. It made them feel much less rough and dry. I also liked that it didn’t have a scent.

Since it is safe to use on kids and babies, I can see that another good use would be when the kids are outside playing in the snow or sliding. I used to go snowmobiling with my dad as a child and the wind hitting your face can be really biting. It would have been great to use then.

Another bonus is that this product is petrolatum and silicone free and is certified organic and vegan. The Green Beaver Company has been around since 2002 and is known for its wide selection of natural and eco-friendly personal care products.

Green Beaver Cheek Balm is available in natural health food stores across Canada and retails for $9.99 each.
