Book Review | Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen
Your Best Life Now: 7 Steps to Living at Your Full Potential by Joel Osteen
As you begin the book, you start by looking at the chapters he is portraying, each helping in a unique way to better yourself. Joel does not just get in there and talk, or mention God occasionally; he gets in there and really makes you think about what he is writing about, from the very first chapter down to the last. Each chapter is broken down by 7 sections, helping in different areas of thinking such as enlarging your vision, developing a healthy sense of self-image, the power of your thoughts and words, letting go of the past, find strength through adversity, live to give and choose to be happy. They are the little things, but huge when you are rebuilding your life, or trying to do something that has to be done for your emotional well-being.
Each section takes you on an emotional ride, being able to look at the different things in your own personal life, and try to change the things you need to. Joel gives you many different things to think about, and reflect on, from your current life, to how you ended up where you are right now. He does not throw a bunch of scriptures at you, but he does give you scriptures you can work on with the chapters you are, but it is not necessary! I am not a “churchy†person, but I do read the scriptures when I want to. I loved this book so much that I am reading it for the second time!
Some books are written to change your life, or to change aspects about your life that will make you a better person. This book does just that, it helps you to look at the little things, and change things in your life for the better! This is a must read for every self-help library!
