Britax Review

Safety first is my motto when it comes to my kids. I am a worrywart and overprotective of both girls especially when it comes to travelling in the car. Olivia is old enough now that she doesn’t require a booster seat, but Bridget still needs one. I had the opportunity to review the Parkway SG Belt-Positioning Booster from Britax which sounded like it would be perfect for Bridget.

First of all, I want to give you a little background on Britax. They are the leading child safety seat manufacturer and have been in business over 35 years. They started out in Europe and have been in the US market since 1996 and they are now in Canada too! They are pioneers in child safety development and offer a full line of car seats that offers side impact protection. In Canada, they launched three of their products: Chaperone Travel Collection (infant carrier and stroller), Blink (compact fold umbrella stroller) and the Parkway SG (belt positioning booster).

I was very excited to receive the Parkway SG Belt-Positioning Booster from Britax. It is designed to fit kids from 40 lbs and 38 inches to 120 lbs and 63 inches. Bridget is only 50 lbs. so we will be able to use it for a long time!

I was impressed with the benefits that this product had to offer which include:

  • True Side Impact Protection- the design allows the energy of the impact to be transferred away from the child during a side collision.
  • SlideGuard- prevents the child from sliding under the lap belt during a collision.
I was surprised to also learn that 3 out of 4 accidents that involve children occur from the side and these crashes result in a significantly higher injury rate than crashes from the front or rear. I pray that never happens, but am thankful that my car seat has this important technology.
Not only is this booster a nice colour and pleasing to look at, but it’s also soft and comfortable for Bridget to sit on especially during long car rides. I really like the headrest which allowed her to sleep on long trips. It also has armrests and cup holders. I love how they focus not only on safety, but also the comfort of the child. Travelling is never easy with young kids and you want everything to be as smooth as possible. If the child isn’t comfy, than the parent won’t be either!!
Another thing I liked was that it was easy to get Bridget in and out of the seat. No fumbling and fighting here! It is also good for 3 Across Seating and fits in my small Dodge SX. It is priced at $139.99 and its an investment well spent in my opinion.
