How to Find the Perfect Halloween Costume
Did you know that it is only 79 days left until Halloween? I know it still seems like a long time until now, but is it really? For me I know that holidays like that creep up on me so I am never quite as prepared as I’d like to be. You may think that I am starting to think about my kid’s Halloween costumes. What do they want to dress up as? Do I make it or buy it? Yes, that’s true that is on my mind. But another thing I am also trying to decide is what I should be! Trick or treating is not just for little kids you know!
I guess I am still a kid at heart because I love to get dressed up and get in full costume right along with the kids. It’s a fun thing to do whether you are bringing them out trick or treating or staying at home giving out candy to the little munchkins. Or if you have a Halloween party to go to or plan on having one yourself, then you definitely need to think about what you are going to wear.
I have prepared a short checklist of items to consider when deciding what you want to wear as a costume:
~Decide if your costume is indoor or outdoor use. If it is for outdoors and it’s cold where you live, you need to choose a costume that will provide some kind of warmth. You don’t want to freeze!
~Figure out what you plan to be using your costume for. Is it just to take the kids out trick or treating or staying home at giving out candy? If so then you may want to consider a costume that will be appealing to the kiddies. If you are going to a party, then you can wear a more grown up sort of costume.
~Know your budget and how much you can spend on a costume. Keep in mind what you are willing to spend on your search for the perfect Halloween attire.
~Look for places that sell adult Halloween costumes. Check online now or wait until closer to Fall when the department stores put out their Halloween items which is usually after Back-to-School specials are over. I prefer going online since there’s no driving, no line ups or waiting, no people to contend with and an awesome selection of just about any costume you can think of!
Most importantly, just remember to have fun in your planning because that’s what Halloween is all about!
