Saplings Review

Saplings Sustainable Kids Decor was born after a conversation between two British Columbian neighbours, Chris and Jo. They were chatting over their fence and bouncing ideas off one another. After getting together over a glass of wine, they partnered up to create Saplings and haven’t looked back!

Their vision was to create a “one stop shop” for parents to allow them to decorate their kid’s rooms in fun, innovative ways while still being socially and environmentally responsible. As moms themselves, they always were questioning where things were made, what it is made with and so forth so they knew other there had to be other parents out there like themselves and they were right! They have done the legwork for parents and answered all these important questions and have selected only high quality products that appeal to kids.

They want you to experience the Saplings Difference. They ensure they know who made each and every product they carry and that they comply with Fair Trade standards. They like to use local British Columbian craftspeople whenever possible. In addition, they also want to know what the products are made from to ensure high quality and environmentally friendly materials. Their products have a timeless quality and will not be based on whatever the current trend is for that particular year. Your child will be able to enjoy Saplings products for years to come.
Saplings has a wide range of products available including Bedding, Decorative Stuffies and Toys, Storage Bins, Art Work, Wall Decor and Hooded Towels to name a few.

I had the opportunity to review some Art Work by Vancouver, BC artist and mother of three, the very talented Liz Clay. She is an artist who is well known in the world of kids decor. She paints fresh and inspiring paintings that will stimulate your child’s imagination. She draws on her three daughters as her inspiration for her work. Liz Clay is a graduate of the Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design.
The print I received is called Who Who Owl Print and it shows a wise owl keeping an eye on his friend skipping through the grass. It comes as an unframed 8 x 10 print so you do have to buy the frame yourself. However, it is signed and dated by the artist, Liz Clay!! It is professionally printed on 110lb paper with archival inks and is packaged in a clear, biodegradable sleeve.

I loved my print! I bought a black frame for it and put it up in Bridget’s bedroom. She is my youngest at 4 1/2 years old. It really brightens up her room and makes it unique. Bridget enjoys the “pretty picture”. She really likes the owl in it!

The cost is very affordable at $20 and can be purchased by visiting Saplings website.

I love the Saplings concept and would definitely decorate my kid’s bedrooms in their products.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
