I’m sure most of us have had to deal with skin irritations in the past and know what a pain they can be! SkinFix is a Canadian company based out of Halifax, NS and has been a trusted remedy for generations. They have three products- SkinFix Body Repair Paste, Buttocks Paste and Efflorescence Paste- all made from natural ingredients including botanical extracts and minerals.
I had the opportunity to try out the entire SkinFix line of products. The Buttocks Paste is a natural home remedy that has been used since the 1500s. It’s a soothing therapeutic emollient barrier that protects and heals your baby’s tender skin, keeping wetness away and safeguarding against itchy, inflamed irritated skin. It works on stubborn diaper rash and contains many natural properties that inhibit the growth of bacteria carrying micro organisms. In addition, it work on cradle caps and it soothes sore nipples from breastfeeding.
I was able to try out the Buttocks Paste on my niece Avery who is 1 year old. It seemed to work well in preventing diaper rash because Avery has not gotten one while using the paste. She’s been lucky and hasn’t had too many of them in the past. I know my girls suffered from diaper rashes and yeast infections as babies and this product looks like it would be perfect for them back then.
Like all of their products, I liked that it did not stain clothes or skin and it was easy to wash off your hands. Sometimes I find that diaper rash cream is quite difficult to wash off, but that was not the case with Buttocks Paste. I can also appreciate that it only contains natural ingredients and no lanolin, parabens and sulfates. I much prefer to use natural products over those with chemicals and artificial ingredients. It’s also a great product if there are nut or wheat allergies in your household because it is free of both.
The price are decent and perhaps a bit higher than the other brands, but still something that I would buy. A 112 g container is $11.49, 225 g is $19.49 and 454 g is $37.99.
The SkinFix Body Repair Paste is a quality multi-use paste containing just the right combination of medicinal ingredients to soothe, heal and protect the skin. It helps any skin problem that you can think as it repairs rough, cracked and dry skin. It has been used on eczema, sore lips, cold sores, razor burn, cuts, wounds, rashes, athlete’s foot and jock itch.
I had the unfortunate experience to hurt myself shaving my bikini area. I ended up cutting myself AND getting razor burn. Can you say ouch!!! Wow did it ever hurt!!! After I had washed the area, I applied the SkinFix Body Repair Paste and found it absorbed into my skin really easily like it melted in the skin and soothed the irritation instantly. I applied the paste every few hours and by the next day, the irritation was almost completely gone and was no longer painful. It worked better than any product I have ever tried and I would definitely recommend it!
The prices are ok and I would pay for this paste again. 112 g is $13.49, 225 g is $25.49 and 454 g is $48.99. A little goes a long way so you don’t need to apply that much to get the job done.
I also received SkinFix Efforescence Paste which is a soothing therapeutic emollient barrier that contains natural properties that will not only treat the affected area, but will also prevent rashes, sores or skin discomforts from developing. It’s effective on incontinent rash, bed sores, jock itch and peri-menopausal discomfort. The paste provides quick long-lasting relief of feminine itch and dry burning sensations that can be experienced during menopause. It has a creamy consistency which makes application and removal effortless on thin, delicate skin.
I did not have the chance to try this paste out since thankfully I haven’t experienced these particular symptoms. However, I can say that I trust the SkinFix brand and would definitely use this product if or when these symptoms arise.
