Skinny Dip Candles Review

I am always looking for new ways to pamper myself because I think its important to give yourself a little treat every once in awhile. As a mom, I am always looking after other’s needs and often forget about my own. I discovered a company called Skinny Dip Candles that offers some pretty unique pampering products that are perfect for me.

Skinny Dip Candles was founded in 2004 and was the first company on the market to offer pure cosmetic grade ingredients in a “lotion candle” or “massage candle”. Their candles actually help your skin improve elasticity and moisture and only use cosmetic grade soy (not to be confused with the soy for regular candles). To the soy, they add cocoa butter, Shea butter, avocado, coconut oil and Vitamin E making it a superior product over its competition who may use soy that is used for candles and NOT skin.Another cool thing about Skinny Dip Candles is that it is a family business. The owners are very knowledgeable about their product and the business and take great pride in their work.

Skinny Dip Candles has a variety of products including its signature product- the Skinny Dip Candle. They also offer lip balms, Dead Sea salts, and Pamper Packs which would make an awesome gift especially for a wedding shower.

I received a Pamper Pack for my review. It came in a pretty organza gift bag and contained a Skinny Dip Candle in Feeling Flirty scent, a lip balm in Wildberry flavour, and a single bath size Skinny Dip Bath Salts. It’s an awesome price too at $18.95.

The Skinny Dip Candle smelled AMAZING!! I loved it! I was curious to see how it would work because I had never even heard of a candle that doubles as a massage oil. It’s very simple to use. You light the candle and let it burn for a bit and then blow it out. You can immediately use the melted ingredients on your skin because its temperature is 102 degrees F which is cooler than a hot tub. I was a bit concerned that it would burn when I scooped some of the oil out with the scoop provided and put it on my arm to start. It was so nice and warm and not burning hot at all. It felt like a warmed massage oil that you get when you see the massage therapist. I rubbed in all over my hands and feet which are super dry after a harsh Winter. It feels wonderful on your skin and moisturizes so well. The great thing about it is that it will re solidify and you can use it again.

I told the spa where I go for massage therapy about the candle and how neat I thought it was and the RMT told me that they actually use Skinny Dip Candles there. They love them! They also offer a variety of scents to suit your tastes. Try Feeling Flirty- its great!

I also received Dead Sea salts in my Pamper Pack. The Dead Sea is well known for its therapeutic effects and Skinny Dip Candles imports these salts directly from there and can prove it with a certificate of authenticity. Regular ocean salts only have a fraction of the minerals as Dead Sea Salts do. They add only a small amount of dendritic salt to the ingredients to hold the fragrance but the rest is 100% Dead Sea Salts.

This was another nice product- very relaxing and soothing when you are sitting in the bath tub. If you have any skin problems or even sore muscles it will help. I know my knees ache from time to time and the bath water seemed to soothe and calm down the pain.
Finally, the lip balm in Wildberry flavour was also awesome. It’s all natural except for a small portion of the flavour oil. Skinny Dip Candles strives to use only eco-friendly and natural materials in all their products. The lip balm went on smoothly and wasn’t clumping or sticky. It moisturized nicely and tasted great too. It works well on people with sensitive skin like myself because it so pure and has high quality ingredients.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
