Mom Life

My first post

Well, this is my first experience with a blog. Up until a few months ago I had never heard of a blog and I guess I was “technologically behind” LOL. It seems almost like an online diary except that everyone can read my personal thoughts and opinions. Does that mean I should watch what I write? Nah, I don’t think so.
I’ll give you some details about me. I am a 29 year old mother of 2 beautiful girls, Olivia (age 9) and Bridget (age 3). We live in the Ottawa Valley in Eastern Ontario. That’s in Canada for anyone who doesn’t know. My hubby is in the military- he is a carpenter and he really enjoys what he does. I used to be an accountant. I say used to because I quit my fulltime job at the end of August. Lets just say I was miserable doing accounting. I couldn’t wait for the days to end and honestly was so tired at looking at other people who had more money then me.
People think that accountants make the big bucks. I’m sure they do if they work for big corporations but if you work for small shitnick public practice firms like I did you make CRAP!!! I have a college education and was pursuing my CGA and barely scraping by on $25,000 a year at the max. It’s funny when I got my first job in Edmonton (where you should be making big bucks), I started at less than 18,000. I mean really. You cannot live on that. Thank god my husband has a good job and benefits. Anyway, I am so glad I left Accounting!!! I’ll write more on my work experiences another time. I got some good stories for you.
What I am doing now may come as a surprise- I know I have gotten some strange looks when I told people. My cousin and I started up a website www.mystic-connections.com We offer psychic readings and reiki healing. I work from home now and I think I’m a workaholic. I need to differentiate from worktime to time to relax LOL…
Time to get back to work LOL…more later.
