A few years ago, I was working on a family cookbook to give to my oldest daughter. I asked my family to share their best recipes so that I could compile all the best ones!

I forgot about the cookbook until I was going through things recently and ran across my Aunt Debbie’s Cream Cheese Fruit Tart recipe. And boy am I glad I found it again!

This recipe is delectable! Now, the filling is really what makes this recipe. It’s creamy, smooth, and sweet (but not too sweet). These bite-sized tarts are the perfect dessert to whip up when you’re craving something sweet, but are also a great transportable dessert for parties. Plus, the vibrant colors make these treats stand out on any dessert table.

    Variations and Substitutions

How Long Does a Fruit Tart Last in the Fridge?

Fully assembled fruit tarts can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days. For the best results, I recommend storing the tarts without the fruit, then adding fruit just before serving. The tarts without the fruit can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days.

    Can these be frozen?

No, I don’t recommend freezing these tarts. The texture of the cream cheese and fruit will not hold up when thawed.

What is the Difference Between a Fruit Tart and a Fruit Pizza?

The difference between a fruit tart and a fruit pizza is mainly in the size. Fruit tarts are a smaller, one or two-bite dessert, while a fruit pizza is prepared in the size of a pizza, then cut into slices.

What is Cream Cheese Filling Made Of?

Our cream cheese filling is made with a combination of cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk flavored with a splash of vanilla extract and lemon juice.

The cream cheese gives the filling its structure, the sweetened condensed milk adds sweetness to offset the tangy flavor of the cream cheese, the vanilla adds flavor depth, and the lemon juice provides a touch of brightness.

The ingredients are simple, but each adds just the right amount of flavor to the filling.
