What I used for my No-Bake Peppermint Pie

    This post contains affiliate links.

    • Saucepan: A sturdy saucepan is necessary for melting marshmallows for this Christmas pie, and this one has a clear lid so you can know exactly when your food is ready!
    • Food processor: Food processors are a lifesaver in the kitchen! I like this one because it has multiple settings.
    • Pie plate: This clear pie plate is perfect for showing off your beautiful crust.

How to Make No-Bake Peppermint Pie

    1. First, make your crust. Simply throw your Oreo cookies in the food processor and pulse until they’re crumbs. You can also do this with a ziplock bag and a rolling pin or bottle of wine in a pinch. Then, stir your crushed cookies with butter and press the mixture into your pie plate. Let this chill for at least half an hour.
    2. Then, melt your marshmallows and milk in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until the marshmallows are super smooth and completely melted.
    3. Now, mix the peppermint extract, food coloring, and vanilla extract into the marshmallow mixture. About six drops of red food coloring will give you a soft pink color, but you can add more color if you prefer it to be a little darker. You can also skip the food coloring completely for a white pie filling.
    4. Once it’s mixed, let the filling cool for about half an hour, stirring occasionally. While it cools, whip the cream and fold the whipped cream into the marshmallow mixture. Assemble your peppermint pie and refrigerate for at least 8 hours before serving.

    How to Store Leftovers

This pie will last up to 4 days in the refrigerator and up to 3 months in the freezer.

You can easily make this pie a day or even two days before your holiday dinner for an easy Christmas dessert.

    5. Hi Stacie, I LOVE this peppermint pie recipe. I’m a big peppermint fan (especially during the Holidays) and therefore came across this fantastic recipe. Also, your pictures are so pretty! Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas!

    6. My son is asking for this pie to be the middle of a chocolate mint piecaken for his birthday next weekend… is there any reason this might not work? I’m thinking to chill it at the back of the fridge overnight before putting it inside the cake to make sure it’s firm, but other than that, no idea.

      1. Good question, I’m not sure either! I think that should be ok though. Just chill it and make sure it’s firm.

    7. I am new to making desserts. Question when making the crust do you remove the filling from the Oreo cookies or crush with the filling.
