I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Etsy. It’s such a great marketplace for handmade items, and I’ve had the pleasure to work with many talented, creative shop owners over the years who have created one of a kind pieces for me, my home, and my children. I’m glad to say that I’ve been introduced to another great artisan – Mackenzie O’Kelley, owner of MackenzieMADE Originals on Etsy.

MackenzieMADE Originals Review

When I clicked on to Mackenzie’s shop the first thing I noticed was all the bright colors – the shop has such a happy feel to it. As I clicked through the pages of her shop I found each item to be cuter than the next! Mackenzie offers a great selection of handmade items including blankets, hats, scarves, knit photo props, baby booties, and more. I was drawn to the Fox Crossbody Hip Bag because it looked like something my niece Maryann would love. Mackenzie sent me a small fox bag for review in the colors that she features in her listing – orange, rust, and gold with a pink bow detail. When it arrived I was immediately struck by the quality of the craftsmanship. This bag is incredibly well made. From the detail of the inner lining, to the perfect length of the strap, you can tell that this was made by someone who cares about what they do and strive to create the best piece they can for you. I love the little details of the face and how the eyes seem to be smiling. It’s such a fun and cute piece. My niece is very much a girlie-girl and always has little trinkets with her so I knew she would appreciate a cute little bag to put her bracelets, necklaces, and little princess figures in. This small size bag is a great size for a toddler/young child. While I happen to love the color scheme that Mackenzie has in the item listing, you can customize your colors and details when you order. At $22, I think this is a wonderful choice for a gift for any young girl in your life – and beyond birthday or Christmas, I think this would make a great “new big sister” gift or a kindergarten graduation present. This bag is available in various sizes with a zipper option as well, so you can custom make a gift for an older girl in your life as well.

When I clicked on Mackenzie’s profile on her shop I was struck by the fact that she’s only 17 years old. She has so much talent and such a great business sense – she truly is wise beyond her years! Her mom taught her to crochet when she was only 3 years old, and she has been creating and selling one-of-a-kind items in her Etsy shop since 2012. She designs all of the items in her shop by herself, without use of any patterns, and uses only high quality supplies. Her main priority is good customer service, and to be as fast as possible on turn around – and that combined with her natural talent make for a great all-around customer experience.

To see all the cute things Mackenzie has to offer, check out her shop. You can also find her on Facebook.

Mackenzie is offering all Simply Stacie readers a 10% discount in her shop – simply use code MMOSS14 at checkout.
