Hoo Hoo the Bear Book Series Review

What child can resist a book series about an adorable bear named “Hoo Hoo”? My children were hooked immediately to this entertaining book series. Written by author, Amanda Kleback there are five hardback titles including, “Hoo Hoo’s Songs”, “Hoo is from Baltimore, Hon!”, “Don’t Get a Boo Boo, Hoo Hoo!”, “Knock, Knock! Hoo Hoo’s There!” and “Hoo Hoo Hoo!!! Merry Christmas!” You can even purchase a 12” plush Hoo Hoo Bear to join children on their adventures through each book.

Hoo Hoo the Bear Book Series

My seven year old son read these books aloud to my five and six year old kids while I passively observed. They really enjoyed the stories and charming illustrations which makes Hoo Hoo an endearing character.

If you are looking for a good book to teach young children about child safety, then I highly recommend my favorite book in the series, “Don’t Get a Boo Boo, Hoo Hoo!” It is written with clear, bullet text and addresses potentially dangerous situations such as getting lost, how to avoid fighting, how to deal with a bully, fire safety rules, electricity and strange animals. I like that it touches on key points without getting too much into detail so even the youngest children will remain engaged and learn about how to react in certain situations.

Hoo Hoo the Bear Book Series

While the topic was up for much debate among my children, “Knock Knock! Hoo Hoo’s There!” was declared to be their overall favorite book in the series. This story features dragons, castles, the cute Nusspickle monster and of course, Hoo Hoo the bear.

For the holidays, “Hoo Hoo Hoo!! Merry Christmas!” is a wonderful book that celebrates Christmas, family and the polish tradition of “Wiglia Hoo Hoo”. Wondering about this tradition? You are going to want to add this story to your holiday book collection to find out for yourself……..

I love discovering good quality children’s books by independent authors. Amanda Kleback did a great job with the Hoo Hoo the Bear book series. You are invited to visit the website to learn more about Hoo Hoo and to purchase any of the books or plush animals. Hoo Hoo is so soft and cuddly and is available for purchase for only $12.95 and the books are only $6.95 each with bundles available to save you money. This would make a great gift idea for any young boy or girl!

Thank you so much for this review. I love the fact that the book series teaches how to deal with bullying. During my nursing school pediatric rotation, we spent a day at an elementary school, and during lunch time, there were several bullying situations I observed (and intervened). Kids need to know how to handle bullies.
