Quotes About Bullying

I know what it is like to be bullied. I had mean girls in my high school who got off on tormenting others. Bullying isn’t something that goes away when you are an adult either although I feel I’m better prepared to handle these type of people compared to when I was a young girl.

We hear stories on the  news about teens taking their own lives as a result of relentless bullying. It breaks my heart. My cousin, Lisa, shared on Facebook this past weekend about her teenage son dealing with bullies at his school. He’s a nice kid who doesn’t deserve that kind of treatment.  Her coming forward and sharing her story inspired me to make these picture quotes about bullying.

love these quotes. Bullying has always been a problem, I wish it had been something that was addressed long before now. I talked to my children regularly about always being nice to others, treat others as you wish to be treated!

  2. Ann Huston Mills says:

We need to address bullying from the top down. We can start with our congress.

  3. Great quotes!
    #BulliesSuck

  4. Sherry Compton says:

Very good quotes. It’s so hard to try to help your kids when they are being bullied. The emotional turmoil and scars it can leave is long lasting and huge. I hate to hear about anyone being bullied. Even as adults, we take what others say to heart but when you are young, it is so important to be liked and part of the group. It’s important to teach children and adults that we all deserve respect and fair treatment.

  5. Great quotes. How sad, though, that bullying is such a problem. :(

  6. Carole Ingram says:

My Favorite is the Sandpaper Quote!! I was bullied for many years in Elementary School….it is so hard on kids and I pray that my kids don’t have to go through what I did!

  7. I love the Albert Einstein quote.

  8. It saddens me to see the extremes that bullying has been taken to. I think there should be severe consequences for bullying, for both child and their parents. Having the whole family do mandatory counciling, to maybe get to the root of the problem. But some sort of mandatory action, that makes both bully and their parents acknowledge the problem, and seek a solution to correct the problem.

  9. Anita Leibert says:

It’s so very sad what some children must go through. I think we’ve all been there at some point. Some deal with it better than others.

  10. Lisa Paisley says:

Bullying is getting way too out of hand. Where are these children learning to be so mean? And WHERE are the ‘s o.k. to go kill someone over it?Enjoyed this post.

  11. Everyone at everyone age needs these reminders!

  12. Lisa Burke Cook says:

Love these Quotes and Bullying is getting to be a real problem and it is so sad.

  13. Quotes about bulling. No one should have to tolerate this. More should be done in the schools. It is taken to the extreme these days.

  14. These are very inspirational! I think they are great! I stumbled!

  15. Thanks! Bullying should be stopped and we should educate our children to stand-up. Schools should also do something about this.

  16. Kelly Carr says:

I was bullied by one particular girl in grade school (and this was a Catholic grade school). She would verbally bully me and once she even punched me in the arm when she knew my arms hurt from getting allergy shots. And when I got accepted into a private all-girls high school, somehow she found out about it & also applied & got accepted (how, I;ll never know, I’d swear bribery was involved) & continued hear bullying at a new school for another 4 years, turning more people against me and turning a friend against me. Major bitch! A few years ago, she found me on Facebook and wanted to be friends! I told her off in no uncertain terms and blocked her sorry a**.

  17. I pinned some of these quotes and I thank you for them. I went back to college a couple years ago, in my 50′s, after being out of work for a year. I was bullied by a small group of people in some classes. Classes where the instructors would not do anything. I complained to the director of my department, twice, and twice (or more) to the student union. Nothing was done. I am still out of work as I don’t want to get work in this new field in case I encounter one of them in the workplace.

  18. Great quotes, I especially like the Roosevelt quote. I too believe that bullying doesn’t necessarily go.away with age, just we are better able to handle it. Bullying has always been a problem in our society, I’m glad people have finally started paying attention.

  19. Completely agree. I work in the public school system and have seen and heard a lot of things. I also was a bullying victim in elementary school and in the early parts of high school. It’s such a hard cycle to break out of.

  20. Charlotte Raynor says:

I love the quotes about bullying. Bullying has always been around but they just didn’t call it that. There were always the favorite group and the not favorite group. There were always clics. It is just no getting more attention that before.

i was bullied very badly during my elementary years that folowed me into highschool. i have 3 grown children the oldest two had no problems but my youngest who is 18 was bullied all through elementary into high school finally last year with the help of the principal we took he put of the school system and put her in a program where she does work at home and a teacher meets her at the library to administer her exams.i have to pay for this $40.00 per subject and to return the book or books another $30.00 per subject. my daughter was suicidal by the age of 15 and had to be hospitalized because she was suicdal. she saw a shrink-we got her counselling. she was on medication for depression. i could go on.i and my daughter are living proof of the effects of bullying. and when its a school as a whole well your just outbeat.i am happy to say life is much better now. she has a half a year to go(from falling behind in school) she got her drivers liscence -a job and yes friends outside of school. she is happy and well adjusted young lady who did not deserve what happened to her. the teachers and principals are of no use what soever and your cries fall on deaf ears. they dont know what to do. do you?

  22. Michelle F. says:

I will be keeping these to use in my classroom

  23. I was bullied in school also…very painful memories. So I talk about bullying with my kids often, especially now that my two daughters have started middle school. It still amazes me how incredibly cruel people can be. I want my kids to know that they can deal with a bully, and that they don’t have to handle it alone-there are options. When my 7th grade daughter became very upset about the young girl who killed herself (several weeks ago), we talked about it at great length. I listened to her feelings, and encouraged her to share her feelings with her friends about bullying. We discussed different ways that same situation might have been handled differently, thus preventing the girl from taking her own life. I think it helped empower her to take a stand against bullying-she was bullied on several occasions in preschool, yes preschool, by a kid that thought it was funny to punch her in the stomach. She told us then, and I pray that she will always feel like she can confide in us, should it ever happen again. My younger daughter, in sixth grade, was bullied at school within the first two weeks of the new school year. She did not mention it at all. I received a phone call from the Principal, informing me that she had gotten to the bottom of the incident, assuring me that it had been addressed, and complimenting my daughter on how maturely she had handled the situation. Wow! I didn’t even know that my daughter stood up to some girls who were bullying her friend, and because she did, they threw rocks at her when she was walking away from them. One hit her, and it hurt. She told her teacher, who encouraged her to write a note to the Principal who was not in her office at the time, telling her the entire incident. I was concerned that she did not tell us, but at the same time, so proud of her for how she stood up for her friend, and to the bullies, and told a trusted adult. I had to conclude, perhaps they do actually listen to what I try to teach them-at least sometimes! :)

  24. Jennifer Johansen says:

I was bullied as a kid at school. I’m afraid the emotional result of that has carried into my adulthood; I feel hyper-vigilant whenever my daughter, who is incredibly sensitive and cries easily, is around other children. Kids can be so pushy and predatory, and she is just not the kind to push back. She’ll let them walk all over her, and it breaks my heart.

  25. Nan Bixby says:

100 hundred yrs ago when I was in school we had bullying also. The difference is there was a punishment back then. Today there is no punishment and it is very sad that children feel they can get away with it.

Bulling is bad but these quotes are very inspiring. And Chris Colfer plays a gay boy in GLEE. He is bullied in high school as well but he eventually works it out. These quotes are AMAZING.

  26. I was bullied in school about my weight. It is a horrible experience. I do not wish this on anyone. I talk with my kids about it also and they are well aware that bullying is wrong… doing it and having it done. I am glad my children are able to come to me with any issues as we can keep on top of things before they become out of control. Thanks for the great post. I will share these with others :)

  27. its sad when someone is bullied. need to look in the mirror bullies and ask what you problem is first before picking on others, you’ll see it because you don’t like yourselves
