Guidecraft Roadway System & Traffic Signs Toy Set Review & Giveaway (US & Can)

As a proud member of the Guidecraft Educator’s Blog Team, I am very excited to start the new school year with the highest quality educational enrichment toys available from Guidecraft®. To kick of our season, the G6713 Roadway System and G309 Traffic Signs is a great toy set for young builders and construction “engineers”. In my opinion, this set is a refreshing and creative alternative to wooden railroad sets because it is so unique that I have never seen one like it before. It encourages children to use their imaginations to build an entire “town” including roadways, traffic signs and even additional add-on options like community buildings and block toppers.

The G6713 Roadway System ($80) includes 42 puzzle style pieces in assorted sizes and shapes. Children ages 2+ can easily connect and link these pieces together to create many different roadway designs. The hardwood veneered pieces are built to be very durable and have withstood hours of play with my children ages 7, 5 and 4. The different sizes and configurations are excellent for promoting problem-solving skills because if one design doesn’t “work” the kids can easily take it apart and find a new way to finish putting together their roadway. The larger size pieces are perfect for little hands and the pieces hold together quite well and stay in place during play time.

The G309 Traffic Signs ($22) set is a nice addition to the Roadway System because it includes 13 7” block style traffic signs. Children can set up these signs along their roadway system and use their imaginations as their cars and trucks zoom along the track while following the rules of the road. We discussed traffic safety and the meaning of each sign such as “Stop”, “Railroad Crossing”, “Yield”, “Handicapped Persons Crossing” and more. While we were out running errands, I enjoyed watching the children being able to recognize the traffic signs from their Roadway set and calling out the meaning i.e. “Look…that sign means ‘One Way” driving only on that road!” These all-wood signs with non-top bases are also quite sturdy and stand up without falling over during play time.

Children of all ages are sure to have lots of learning fun playing with the Guidecraft® Roadway System and Traffic Signs play sets. Teachers and parents will appreciate that children are able to expand their imaginations while building important skills. This set is excellent for both independent play and also for learning cooperative skills during group play time.

You are invited to visit Guidecraft® to purchase the Roadway Set and Traffic Sign Set which would make an excellent gift idea especially for the holidays. While you are there, I highly recommend browsing the entire selection of high quality educational wood toys and heirloom quality furniture.
