If you ask my three children what is their favorite activity they unanimously agree that it is making arts and crafts projects. They also love to receive mail so the Green Kids Crafts Discovery Boxes are a wonderful concept that is a big hit with our family!
What is a Green Kids Crafts Discovery Box? It is an earth-friendly subscription service that provides the highest quality craft projects for children on a monthly basis for only $19.50 plus shipping is free. Each Discovery Box comes packed with materials for at least three different projects.
My children were so excited when their “Feathered Friends” Discovery Box arrived in the mail. We are studying birds in our home school science course so this is the perfect enrichment activity to enhance their creativity while learning more about our backyard birds. This box had three fun projects including bird puppets, a bird house and a spotting scope. My children are ages 4, 5 and 7 and the activities were age appropriate and a great bonding experience as a family because we all worked together to make the projects.
We are an eco-conscious family and I am teaching my children from an early age about the value of being eco-friendly so I especially appreciate that Green Kids Crafts use natural, sustainable materials and even the box that it arrives in is 100% recyclable.
Green Kids Crafts has a variety of subscription options available and these would make excellent gift ideas for the holidays. Imagine the excitement each month when your children receives a Discovery Box full of fun projects!

Update: It is amazing how our children can take something that seems like a simple craft and turn it into a family treasure! My father died recently and my children and I were with him in his final days. His hobby was building bird houses and when my son, Adam built this birdhouse without my knowing it added the words “For Pops, I love you forever”. He gave it to my dad who was unable to speak anymore and it was such a special moment as a tear fell down his face and he gazed lovingly at my son. This touched my heart in a way that I will treasure forever…………

Birds creep me out, but that is really sweet about your son and your dad – I’m sure birdhouses will always have a special meaning for your son.
