Oxygen’s I’m Having Their Baby Premieres Tonight! #IHTB

Today is the day people. Oxygen’s new show, I’m Having Their Baby, premieres TONIGHT (July 23) at 11/10 CT! If you haven’t been keeping up with the buzz that has been going around, let me give you the 411.

About the Show

I’m Having Their Baby is a six episode docu-series about the real life stories of women who have given up their babies for adoption. The birth mothers share their experience about why they made this difficult choice and how it has impacted their lives. Viewers will get to know two birth mothers in each hour long episode. In some episodes, they will also meet birth fathers and adoptive families. The stories are emotional and real. These are real women who have had to make one of the toughest decisions of their life. They are inviting us in to their lives by sharing their story.

The Premiere Episode

On tonight’s episode we will witness Mary & Claudia’s journey. Mary discovers she is pregnant but it’s not her husband’s baby. She had an affair and now faces the tough choice of deciding to keep the baby or save her marriage. Claudia is fearful she will end up a single mother after she becomes pregnant by a man who has already fathered six children with four different women.

I’m really looking forward to the show and I’ve got the tissues ready. It will be intense, I’m sure, but also enlightening. I’m interested in hearing the stories of these courageous and strong women whose goal was to do what was best for their baby and what is right for them in their current life circumstances.  I have great respect for them and will be watching and listening intently.

any mother who realizes that they want the best for their child but are unable to provide the best for their child should be applauded. many women in that situation end up neglecting the child or aborting. These woman are putting the baby first.

  6. LISA FRANKE says:

I think that when u make the decision to give up ur child so it can have a better life, you are making an admirable choice.

  7. I think this show is going to be one of those rare reality shows that actually educates people into something as important an life changing as adoption!

  8. I will be looking for this. It sounds amazing!

  9. Susan Smith says:

I’m looking forward to seeing how the birth mothers make the decision to give up their baby for adoption. I’d like to see how they feel about their decision years from now too.

  10. I am looking forward to seeing this show. I know it is a heart wrenching decision (for most) parents who make the decision to give their children up for adoption. Like some of the earlier posters, I would like to see how the parents feel years after the decision was made.

    • As a birth mother almost 40 years ago I can tell you how I feel. I was sophmore in college. A boyfriend who would do whatever I wanted. It was scary time and difficult but there wasn’t a question in my mind adoption was the answer. It was a closed adoption, which I am glad for. I always felt the child would be the adopted families child. I always felt the child’s life would be better than what I could do at the time. I couldn’t move on if I were to have contact. It would be so difficult watching the child grow and dealing with the decision all the time. How do you deal with adopted parents who are raising your child different than you would handle it, can you say something, what if they were wrong in their decision and your thoughts were right. What if something goes wrong do you blame the adopted parents or yourself for choosing adoption? I had from the beginning good feelings of adoption because I had an adopted cousin. I have no regrets. I don’t question my decision. I always wish the best for the child and hope she had a good life.

Placing a child for adoption is a truly selfless act of love when a parent is unable to care for or protect their child (for whatever reason).

  22. i caught the commercial preview. i hope it’s not like pregnant and 16.

  23. I saw the preview for that!! Looks really good!

  24. I also saw the commercial for it, and it does look interesting. I would watch some of it to see how it is, but I don’t know if I want to watch people with heartbreak over giving up their baby and/or the potential parents heartbreak if the mother decides to keep the baby. It’s just kind of uncomfortable. I guess I would have to actually view an episode of the show before assuming what it is all about though.

  25. Kelly J Hubbard says:

I think anyone brave enough to share their emotions with strangers on such a personal matter to me is amazing…

  26. This show looks so very interesting. I admire anyone who could give their child a better life.

  27. This show looks like it will be very eye-opening. It’s wonderful that the families are allowing us such an up close look into their lives.

  28. Jacob LaFountaine says:

    Not a show for me

  29. I couldn’t handle having something so personal be on TV but this looks cool!

  30. Michelle S says:

I think the show concept is different, however I hope being on the show “helps” others through their own adoption process. We always see/hear about the adoption side vs. the people who give these children up for adoption.

  31. making my daily comment for the giveaway of $100 Visa Gift Card

  32. i think i have watched this show or something like it. for some women, im glad they made the choice because they knew they couldnt physically or financially taking care of the baby

  33. I really hope this helps people see adoption as a wonderful alternative to abortion.
