Holiday Gift Guide | Haba’s Hit the Throttle Game Review & Giveaway (US)

My four and six year old sons and five year old daughter have been racing around since they could walk so of course they were very excited to play the Oppenheim Platinum award-winning Haba® game, “Hit the Throttle.” This creative and unique board game is actually a 3 piece puzzle that fits together to create the “track” where the exciting game play takes place.

Recommended for ages 4 and up, my three children were immediately engaged in playing this game. To start the game they lined up all the wooden cars on the board and then each player selected a playing card. These are the two cars that they would be secretly racing towards the finish line. Through a series of rolls of the dice the cars are moved forward until ultimately the winner’s two cars cross the finish line. My children LOVE this game and there were lots of cheers as the champion was “crowned.”

As an avid board gamer myself, I love that this game involves teaching my children about strategy. It is a fun game for “ages 4-99” and my three children had no problem following the rules with a bit of help from me to guide them. This game is fun, fast paced and thoroughly enjoyable for everyone involved….finally, a children’s board game that the adults can actually enjoy playing too!

I am very familiar with the high quality line of toys and games available from Haba® which has been a favorite in our family for years. “Hit the Throttle” is an excellent addition to their game line-up and would make a wonderful gift idea for race fans (ahem…children) of all ages. This game is very affordably priced at only $10.88 and is available for purchase at Maukilo.com.
