GKHair Review & Giveaway (WW)

I have this weird thing with shampoo; I always have to use the matching conditioner. For whichever brand of shampoo and conditioner I am using at the moment, I always run low on the conditioner well before I am starting to run out of shampoo. This is especially frustrating when I’m using a more expensive shampoo and conditioner because I’d prefer to buy them both at once. Like I said, I’m weird.

My hair has always been frustrating to me. I do a lot of heat styling (blow drying and straightening/crimping), so my hair breaks easily and I often experience a lot of frizz and fly-aways. The frizz and fly-aways are very noticeable when I’m spending time in California, and I usually find that I don’t have to wash my hair as often while I’m there.

GKHair is a professional line of hair care products that was founded in 2007 by Ván Tibolli. The products are used big-time hair professionals and salons all over the world. GKHair is also the one and only company that uses an ingredient in their products called Juvexin, which is eco-friendly and made from sheep’s wool.

I had the pleasure of trying out two products from the GKHair line: the Leave-In Spray and the Serum. I have been using both of the products every time I have washed my hair for almost the past month now, and love both of them!

Note that it says on the GKHair website that the Leave-In Spray should be used after using the GK shampoo and conditioner; I have been using it after shampooing with a Gardinier Fructis shampoo (no bottled conditioner–because I ran out, of course!), and I have loved the results.

The Leave-In spray is very light weight, and coats all the strands of my hair. There is definitely a noticeable difference in the amount of frizz that I have in my hair after using both products. As an added bonus, the Leave-In Spray is also a very good detangler; my daughter, who has hair almost to her butt, hates having her hair brushed (and I hate doing it!) and I have started using it on her to make the whole process easier. Because it’s a spray, the product is also lasting a very long time, making it a sure thing that I will be purchasing more when I run out.

Serums are tricky; I tend to hesitate in using them because I have fine hair, and if I use too much product, my hair will look greasy and unwashed when dry. I like this one because it is lightweight and I don’t feel as if I have any product in my hair at all after putting a dime-size amount in. The serum has made my hair softer to the touch, and also helps to smooth out my frizz.

If you are constantly dealing with frizz and unmanageable hair, you will definitely want to give GKHair a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! To find a salon near you that carries the GKHair line, click here.
