Welcome to Simply Stacie’s Saturday Featured Blog! If you would like your blog featured, please fill out this form.
Today I would like to welcome LM Preston from LM Preston. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
As an author, an engineer, mother of four and a wife, I love to be busy. Traveling is my other passion, and I’ve had other various part-time jobs as a College Professor, Mortgage Lender and owning a travel business. Now add blogger to the list. Funny thing is, I’m still discovering things about myself. With so many more years to discover them, who knows what’s in store for me next.
Please tell me about your blog.
My blog originally started because I wanted to connect with readers, other writers, and just people. Let me just say, I loved it. Never run out of topics, hey as a mom of four kids – I don’t run out of good material. I love writing, but I also love movies, teen talks, and sharing things that pique my interest like, books! But I didn’t want to just review YA books myself. I wanted my daughter, the YA audience and her friends, to do it. Well she’s the main person who reviews books on my blog. Most times I read the books first, and pass on what I know she likes. Movies, what can I say, I’m an action, martial arts, scifi, horror and romance kinda girl. All of that and a bag of chips is what I talk about on my blog.
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging a little over a year and it’s taken off. I post about 3 times a week. Mon, Wed, Fri and the topics vary from my books, YA books, some adult books, movies, writing topics, teen related topics and whatever else tickles my fancy.
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
Books, Movies, Contest, Giveaways, Author visits, Business owner visits, Teen visits and whoever wants to visit, lol!
Who does your blog appeal to?
Teens, writers, readers, movie lovers, and curious blog hoppers.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I’d love to span out and do more contest/giveaways to help promote other authors. Also, talk more publishing related topics to include music and books.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
Promoting anything, especially a blog can be a challenge. Keeping up with interesting content, and getting guest to pop in makes blogging like … well, another job. For me it’s a labor of love. My kids also hop in and during the summer you’ll see post from them. So it’s given us a great tool to bring us together. My son usually does video game reviews, short stories, and movie reviews. My daughter does the YA book reviews.
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?
Pace yourself. Don’t get caught up in drama. Remember blogging is a form of writing or reporting (so as a blogger you are a writer and people read and remember what you say). You are writing on the internet so know that nothing on the internet truly ever goes away even when it’s deleted. Set specific days to post, and explore the wonderful doors blogging can open for you. Even go to the bloggers conference. Lastly, HAVE fun, and when it’s not fun anymore…don’t do it.
Tell me some of your favorite blogs that you read.

I love her books and I’m happy that she is writing something that both me and my son enjoy.
Thanks for the shoutout!
Just had to come over and thank LMPreston for listing my blog here! I know LM more as an author than a blogger–anytime she has a new book out, be sure to get it because you will be thoroughly enjoying the read! I also thought I’d take the opportunity to invite your readers to my blog during August:

I will be posting my 1000th entry this month and spotlighting a Cheryl Moore.
Along with spotlighting her work and commenting on it, I will be reading/reviewing her work, putting together an author interview, and many other things that bloggers get into…
Want to go behind the scenes with a professional book reviewer? Come Visit!
And thanks again, LM…luvya!
