EMJ Live Fitness Review
Back in the day, I used to be a fitness junkie. So much so that I actually got not one but TWO personal trainer certifications. It was nothing for me to go to Tae Kwon Do at lunch and then do exercise classes after work or go for a 10 mile walk after dinner with my husband. I still love the feeling of working my tail off and getting sweaty but I have to steal my workouts where possible with a 3 year old and a 9 month old (which, incidentally is why I am no longer certified).
Workout videos get boring, classes are ALWAYS during naptime, and unless you have a gym with daycare, it can be impossible to fit a work out in. Enter EMJ Live Fitness. EMJ Live Fitness offers classes both live and on-demand so if you can’t fit in the live class, you can always view a previously live class that has been recorded. Each class is available to you for 24 hours after purchase. Because they are live, each date will be a little different. If you do go to a live class, you can chat 15 minutes before and after each class to ask questions. They offer 8 classes now (Fit at the Barre, Strength & Tone, Step II, Cardio Dance, Jersey Cycle, Jersey Kick, Bosu & Yoga) with hopes to have 12 by the end of summer.
I was able to try the Jersey Kick class and felt like a million bucks. I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have been missing it sooooo bad. I didn’t realize how much until I took this class. The choreography was not hard (and I am SO uncoordinated – yes, I know I’m a BB – still, not pretty) and it was pretty fast paced. The music was typical techno-y music but not annoying. I’d put this particular class, which ran about 40 minutes at about an intermediate/upper beginner level as far as fitness and beginner as far as choreography goes. This was a great class for me because not only did it not require any equipment, but I could sign up right as I was starting. It’s easy to sign up, easy to purchase and the only hard part is the workout – and that’s all up to you!
These are great classes for stay-at-home mom’s who have to steal workout time, people who travel a lot, people who are intimidated by the gym, or people who exercise a lot but don’t want to spend hours at the gym.
Normally you can purchase EMJ Live Fitness classes for $8 each. Right now they are having a $5 summer special and they even have $1 weekly sales.
