I’ve been on WordPress for almost a year now and it’s been great for the most part. I can do all the basic things like writing and editing posts, adding widgets to my sidebar, and adding plugins. However, there’s some things that still confuse the heck out of me and that I wouldn’t dare try for myself. I’d probably end up wiping out my entire blog or something!
When I am having issues with my site, I normally call my hosting company first to get their advice. Sometimes they can be helpful and other times they will tell me something that will just fly over my head and I will not understand. I hang up more confused than ever! I’m grateful for the folks at Desperately Seeking WordPress and I feel peace of mind knowing that there is a company out there that I can rely on to give me good advice and explain it to me in terms I will understand.
I signed up as a Retainer Client in March. This service includes monitoring my site monthly (site errors, plugins, memory usage, spam), make backups (not just the database), clean up memory leaks, and upgrade everything. As a retainer client, I never wait more than 2 days for services, and get 30% off (technical services only). It costs $28/month. I think of it as my peace of mind and having my own I.T. team.
They also have Trouble Tickets for times when you are really stuck and at your wit’s end. They will look into your issue and give you options on how to fix it. I hired them when I was switching to my VPS and my nameservers were giving me grief. Cathy, the owner of Desperately Seeking WordPress even called me at home and helped me with the issue. I felt 100% better after talking to her and knowing that I wasn’t alone in trying to deal with stuff over my head.
