Monetizing Your Blog: January 2011 Report

I started keeping track of the programs I am part of and how much money I have made off each. This way you can see which ones do work and decide for yourself if you want to join them and try them out on your sites too.

Here’s a list of the ones I made money off of in January:

Total $207.62

Do you use any of these programs on your site? If so, how do you like them?

  1. I haven’t used any of them on either blog I have (though one is new so that would make sense) but it’d be interesting to try. My only concern is having a bunch of ads and annoying things on the side of my main blog (Coffee Pot Chronicles). Clutter bugs me so I try to avoid it.

Any tips for this? I wouldn’t mind bringing in at least a little bit of extra cash, even if it was only $50-100 a month. Every little bit helps, right?

  2. Thanks so much for you honesty here. I love Escalate Network. Revenue Curve and Linkworth are new to me. I might have to check them out!

  3. Awesome that you’re willing to share and I’m impressed with that amount!
I haven’t tried anything; I did try adsense for a week but when I wrote about my brother’s wedding and a bunch of ads appeared on my site for ‘mailorder bride’ type things…I quit! LOL
Maybe one day I’ll look in to these.

  4. Stumbled. I always want to know this information but am too embarrassed to ask. Thanks for sharing so openly. My best income is from payperpost and links that have been offered to me out of the blue. Now that I have a google pr 3, I think I will go back to links worth and sponsored reviews.

  5. I used Logical, My Savings, Escalate & sponsored tweets. I’d like to learn more about Linkworth.

  6. I have not used any of them but I have used blogvertise – they send about 12-15 requests a month and payout average of $10 per post. I have not been doing them lately but they can be nice for a little extra cash.
    Love to you

  7. Thanks for sharing this info and being so honest and open. Thusfar I’ve only used sponsors to monetize my blog but have been considering other venues now that we have a good reader base. Very helpful!

  8. I still do Sponsored Tweets (I believe I’ve made about $200 since the start of it) and I’ve done Sponsored Reviews in the past as well (another decent $ maker).

I don’t work, so I don’t file taxes therefore I don’t use these that require a SSN. I use Sponsored Tweets and I usually get $25 a month in sponsored reviews, but other than that, not much!

  10. Thanks so much for being so open and honest! This is incredibly healpful!!!

Thanks for posting! I am looking for ways to monetize my site. I will definitely check out the ones that you mentioned.

  12. Hi – How do you make money off the affiliate groups? I have signed up for four and haven’t any idea how to market them. I have done MyTweets and made a few dollars off them – not enough to generate a check. Linkworth I just signed up with, I think for the couponizer. Escalate I’m signed up with but haven’t done anything with them yet. I think I will definitely check out sponsored reviews. I have done some with one2one network and made about $100 in 4 months. I really like working with them a lot.

I’d love to hear your ideas on sponsoring and marketing affiliate partners.

For the logical media and the other ones, I just post offers that I think will appeal to my readers. I usually think if I would want it then other people would too and that seems to work. I am picky with which ones I put up. Those 3 networks seems to have quality offers though compared to others out there.

  13. I did go ahead and sign up for sponsored reviews and I’ve been doing the buttons for affiliates. I’ll start posting their offers and specials. That’s a good idea. Do you have a way to put your affiliate code in the link? So you get credit if they click through. That would be a text link correct?

Thanks for your help. I’ve posted my question in several business type forums on the mom bloggers type sites and haven’t gotten any answers.

Thanks for pointing me to your post Stacie. I’m a member of WeUseCoupons, Social Spark, Blogelina, Blogvertise, My Likes and Sponsored Tweets. I have an acct with Link Worth but have yet to put them on my blog. Since you’ve made $40 with them I think it’s time to get them up.

Thanks again and I’d like to say that Social Spark is by far the most profitable for me. At this moment I have $128 in my acct with them plus I just received a lead to write a $50 post…..that’s a first for me.

Stacie, thank you for the wonderful tips! I am currently doing CJ…nothing yet. What do you think of them?

    • Stacie says:

I don’t like them personally. I think they are the ones who kick you out if you don’t make a sale in so many months. I am not 100% sure, but I recall getting an email from them and thought why bother.

      • Mary says:

I am using CJ right now because logical media denied my first application. Can you do coupons.com and other coupon sites thru logical media? I am wanting to find one that makes my linking easier, not so wordy.

  16. I use Escalate & We Use Coupons and love them both. They pay out at small amounts which is great.

  17. I love we use coupons- one of my biggest $$$ makers!
