Title: The Ice Cream Theory
Author: Steff Deschenes
My Review:
Well, you don’t have to be an ice cream lover to enjoy this book, but I bet by the end, or even near the beginning, all the references to ice cream will cause you to veer to the Dairy Queen Drive thru for a scoop or 2!
When Steff was younger, her parents tried to console her newly broken heart by trying every ice cream flavor that a local company has to offer. Yup… every flavor! This has led to this wonderful and funny book in which Ms. Deschenes theorizes that “how a person selects his or her ice cream says a lot about how he or she lives life.”
It’s kind of a frivolous read, but so entertaining and it will give you a little joy. A little food for the soul so to speak as Ms. Deschenes shares stories from her life and relates it all back to ice cream.
If you have a friend who loves ice cream, you should get her this book. Every chapter is the flavor of ice cream and there are deliciously delightful ice cream quotes from many famous people throughout such as;
“There’s nothing wrong with me that a little ice cream won’t fix.”
I found this book to be thoroughly charming and uplifting and I know just the girlfriend I am going to share it with.
*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
