The Simple Stencil Review

I had the opportunity to review a stencil from The Simple Stencil. I cannot tell you how excited I was for this review. The choices were unlimited! I spent well over two hours playing around with fonts, phrases, styles and quotes. I settled on my new favorite motto. Settle isn’t really the right word. It’s what I finally felt our family needed on our wall. It’s “Disce Pati”. Weird right? I can’t even pronounce it correctly but it means Learn to Suffer. Or endure if you are a little more politically correct.

When I first saw the phrase I knew it fit with our family and all of our medical trials and things that have happened in our lives over the last three years. To me, it is a reminder to smile because you are still breathing and that’s a good thing. Simple, profound and touched my heart like nothing else I’ve ever heard.

That’s why I was so excited to have it hung on our wall. It hangs over our picture of George Washington kneeling to pray and it’s the first thing you see when you enter our home.

I love it! It matches the frame of the picture and I wasn’t even trying to! If you don’t have a specific quote in mind there are a ton of choices on the website. Jennifer the owner is wonderful to work with. The stencil was easy to apply. The thinner part of the stencil was a little harder to work with than the thicker portion. It didn’t want to stick right away but I think it’s because our walls are textured. Even with the texturing it only took ten minutes to get everything on the wall. We just kept running the enclosed stencil applier over the lettering until it stuck. It’s really easy.

Jennifer also sent us some smaller samples of the same phrase and it’s now on the back window of my car. I had absolutely no trouble there and that’s why I think it was my wall and not the stencil with the one inside. I love these stencils and cannot wait to order more. They make a great addition to any room in your home or even your vehicle.

*I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*
