Title: Out of the Transylvania Night
Author: Aura Imbarus
My Review:
Out of the Transylvania Night by Aura Imbarus is a powerful memoir of one woman’s quest for freedom, love and self discovery. The author grew up in Transylvania and sets the historical stage brilliantly for the aftermath of the fall of Communist dictatorship. It then follows her life journey as she and her husband struggle to grasp the idealized American dream. Out of the Transylvania Night is a thought provoking and intelligent story that will effortlessly transport you into her world.
It explores the emotional price that is paid when one sacrifices one’s self in pursuit of an unattainable ideal. Out of the Transylvania Night also examines the deep seated need for freedom of self.
This is a serious story that is presented by the author is such a warm and inviting manner that by the end you will feel that you have made a new “friend.”
I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
