Fit for Fall | Prescription Audio Review

I suffer from anxiety and find that meditation does wonders in helping me become more calm and relaxed. A few years back, I used to go to a meditation group once a week and we would do a group guided meditation together. It was fantastic. I miss going because I felt so good afterwards. My pain was always lessened (sometimes it was gone!) and I left there feeling so refreshed. Since I moved, I haven’t found a group in my area and I stopped meditating. This past year has been stressful on me. I am going through a divorce, in a new relationship, moved across the country, still in pain…the stress has taken its toll on me. I need a way to get more centred and let my worries just roll off of me.

Prescription Audio is just what the doctor ordered! This is a company that offers audio products designed to promote better sleep, meditation and stress relief. Sign me up! They use vibrational therapy to help you retrain your mind and body and promote a healthy state. If you are interested in learning the science behind how it all works, then read more on Quantum Harmonics.

They have products that focus on Sleep, Meditation, Stress Release and  Weight Loss in MP3 Downloads or CDs. I had a hard time deciding between the Meditation and the Stress Release downloads, but I ended up selecting Stress Release because it’s something I need NOW!  When I get stressed, my muscles tense up on my nerves and causes me to go into a pain flare. Sometimes these flares can last for weeks and the pain is constant. I try to nip my stress in the bud when it first starts so it doesn’t get to that point.

I was sent the Chill Relaxation/Meditation program which consists of 5 MP3 downloads:

  • 8 Minute Quick Relax
  • 15 Minute Relaxation
  • Evening Meditation
  • 24 Minute Guided Meditation
  • 24 Minute Unguided Meditation
  • Instructional Booklet

I was excited because now I had all the tools in front of me to get back into meditating!

The 8 Minute Quick Relax is great when you only have a limited amount of time, but need a quick release. It’s not long enough for me to get into a deep meditation, but it does help to calm me down.I like the relaxing sound of the waves- listening to the ocean has always been one of my favourite sounds of nature to listen to.

The 15 Minute Relaxation is perfect for the mornings. It begins as a guided meditation with the sounds of nature in the background- birds chirping, brooks babbling. It’s very refreshing.

Evening Meditation is a 24 minute meditation to end your day with to release the stress and stored tension you collected throughout the day. This one is soooo relaxing and puts me to sleep! It has a guided meditation at the beginning with the sounds of waves crashing in the background. I am usually out like a light by the time it ends!

The 24 Minute Guided Stress Relief Meditation brings you into a deep theta relaxation and is guided to help you reach that state. In the background are sounds of nature. This is a good one for me when I feel the pain coming on. I like the guided version because my mind seems to wander less.

The 24 Minuted Unguided Stress Relief Meditation is the same thing as the Guided version, but without any talking at all. It’s a good one if you can focus on relaxing. I like having the help of a guide personally!

Guess how much all these downloads are? $34.95!! They are well worth it! I think that’s an excellent value for your money.

They are fantastic quality. The sound is crisp and clear. The voices and music are soothing. The nature sounds are just like they would sound if you were on a beach or in the forest. Prescription Audio is one of the best meditations out there in my opinion. Check them out and listen to the samples on the site and find one that is right for you.

Disclosure: I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample of the product for review purposes. The opinions are my own, based on my personal experience with the product.
