My Review:
I loved reading this book. It made me happy. I can see it being a big hit with children everywhere. As an educator, I hear kids all the time say they hate reading, it’s boring or it’s no fun. So when I see something that I know will get them reading it makes me excited.
Daniel Boom is an honest-to-goodness, old fashioned comic book. The reading level is probably grade 3 and up I would say. It is one of a series and I would be interested in reading all of them with my tutoring students.
We have good guys, bad guys, action/adventure, a kid who is the hero and just an all round fun read for kids of any age. The setting is in school, so kids can relate it to their own world. The illustrations are amazing and eye-catching with a lot of detail. There are interesting characters such as Destructo-Kid, Fidget and Tantrum Girl… all people who we would normally see in classroom settings!
Nothing bad to say about this book. I think kids will go crazy for it and that it could be used in a classroom easily.
