Book Review: Big Kicks and Goal!

Just in time for the World Cup, I received 2 great books for children to review. My girls love soccer (or football as it is known in the rest of the world) so I thought they would be fun to read and review!

The first book that I read was Big Kicks by Bob Kolar! I absolutely loved this book! I thought the storyline was fantastic because it showed how everyone can play and do things together and I thought the drawings were absolutely adorable! My girls thought it was a really fun book as well and then I passed it on to my friend’s son who, I’ve heard, also loves it!

The other book that I read was Goals! by Mina Javaherbin. It is a story about boys playing soccer in South Africa. It shows aspects of the culture of the country as well as the worldwide passion for soccer that we are seeing right now with the World Cup! I thought the drawings were beautiful in this book and really capture the feelings in the story.

I would recommend both of these books for any children who enjoy playing soccer – they would also make a great gift for any child’s soccer coach!

*I received copies of these book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading these books.*

What great books! We are a soccer (football)-lovin’ family. I might have to check these out on Amazon even though my boys are getting a bit old for picture books. Thanks for sharing.
